Robosapien w/ Bluetooth remote control
angusgr — Mon, 01/11/2010 - 6:57pm
Robosapien was a toy robot released back in 2003. One of the neat things about these robots is that the manufacturer designed them for easy hackability.
This is about a Sunday afternoon spent attaching a Seeeduino (Arduino clone) and a Bluetooth serial module to the Robosapien, then remote controlling him from a Python shell. Read more »
MHV at Robot World Live
angusgr — Tue, 24/08/2010 - 11:39pm
Last Tuesday MHV were invited to present their projects at Robot World Live. This event was held at Questacon as part of National Science Week.
Chris Wolfe & myself presented the latest incarnation of Chris' robotic hand and talked briefly about the potential for hobbyist robotics, and home-made creations.
Arduino controlled robotic hand
Combust — Thu, 20/05/2010 - 4:32pm
One of my ongoing projects (I started it when I was about 15 years old with an aluminium one) has been a robot hand but only recently have I been able to easily make something that will control multiple hobby servos. Hooray Arduinos! Read more »
Emiglio Refit
Adam — Tue, 18/05/2010 - 11:08am
At Make, Hack, Void we have started working on refitting an Emiglio/Scooter robot with new control systems. He was bought as a gift for one of our members from a market stall and is missing his controller. The hope to be able to extend his functionality beyond the standard factory controls while still maintaining as much of his appearance as possible.
Recently we spent an afternoon taking it apart to see what we can fit inside... Read more »

Demonstrates how one can play with robots and microcontrollers with any budget. Money is no barrier to getting into it.
Arduino Powered Orbit CD Duplicator
deece — Mon, 30/11/2009 - 8:32am
I completed this project a while ago, but I thought I'd better write it up anyway.
A few years ago, I bought a CD duplicator cheaply at an auction, with the intent of upgrading it to a DVD drive. Since then, it had been collecting dust, until I got motivated enough to do something about it.
I decided to convert it into an autoloading DVD burner, using an Arduino. Read on at my blog for information on how I did it: http://alastair.d-silva.org/orbit-cd-duplicator-rebuild .
