Polymorphachord Keyboard

xmd — Tue, 09/02/2010 - 10:04pm

I have been meaning to play with an alternative input method for a PC for a while. I have come across plenty of stuff that other people have done - so what I am trying is by no means new.
The basic idea is a chorded keyboard crossed with a wii style gyro/accelerometer based mouse. The basic shape/idea for the 'chord is certainly not original - www.chordite.com has the most info and a patent (i haven't actually looked closely at his patent) but releases his patent for use under certain conditions. I haven't been able to find a commercial ergonomic single handed chorded keyboard. They tend to be either two handed and ergonomic or one handed and not ergonomic. The closest to what I am trying is someone else from chordite who shaped their keyboard from balsa wood.

This is just a stub, I'll post more info when I have time. In between times I'll be posting randomly to blog.swan.id.au.
